God Always Finishes What He Starts

In my personal Bible study, I am currently studying through the book of Philippians verse by verse.  It’s always amazing to me how one little verse can speak so much to my heart!  God’s Word is so rich!

Today’s verse is Phil. 1:6.  “And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ (right up to the time of His return), developing (that good work) and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”  ~Amplified version

The Lord is continually working in me.  The work began the day I accepted Him and will continue until the day I see Him face to face.  Sometimes that work is good and pleasant and exciting.  Other days, that work is hard and unpleasant and difficult.  Still there are other days that it seems like there is no work going on inside of me at all.  Sometimes I wonder what my purpose even is, or if the Lord is doing anything in my life.  Sometimes the days seem all the same……no new work happening.

But, God’s character is to always finish what He starts.  He has promised to finish the work that He started in me.  I must choose to be willing to be clay in His hands and to be receptive to the work He has planned for me.  I can be “convinced and sure of this very thing, that He who began a good work in me, will continue until the day of Jesus Christ.”  He is faithful and He is good!!!

A Fresh Start!

I’ve tried blogging in the past, but haven’t been too good at it.  I’ve always wanted to journal, but have never been very consistent.  I often think, “I wish I had written that down”, as I try to remember the details of an event.  It bugs me when I know I read a really good quote somewhere, but can’t find where I wrote it down.  As I study God’s Word, He shows me so many new and exciting things!  I need to be writing all of this down!  So….I thought I’d try again to keep a record of my day-to-day thoughts and happenings.  It probably won’t be of interest to many, and my posts will probably be very inconsistent,  but if you do happen to read a post or two, I hope it will encourage you and remind you that He is faithful and He is good!!
