Still No News

I know it’s been a while since I last updated and many of you have been asking what’s going on.  Well, we’re still not sure.  Greg has been in touch with some of the folks at MD Anderson, but the final decision has not yet been made as to the next step in treatment.  We feel pretty sure that the recommendation will be one of two things:

1. Open heart surgery to remove the tumor, or

2. Biochemotherapy

Either will be a major deal and very taxing on Greg’s body.  Both would require extended stays in Houston.  Please continue to pray for all of the doctors that are deciding the best route to take.  Also, please pray for Greg and our family as we prepare for whatever is ahead.

For now, Greg continues to take the oral chemo (Zelboraf) and has been feeling pretty good.

Thanks so much for all the kindnesses shown to our family!  The prayers, cards, gifts, meals, hugs, etc mean so very much to us.  We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by God’s goodness to us during this difficult time in our lives.

I will update when a final plan has been made.

I have to stop myself many times from asking, “Why them? Why Greg? Why this precious God fearing family?” The only and most remarkable answer I believe is because it is Gods plan. Many of you truly know the Masters, but the few that don’t, I know have been affected in a way that never was expected. Hearts that were once broken were mended by seeing how much trust and honest surrender that only a truly devoted Disciple could display.

I have shared Sandra’s email with a few of my prayer warriors and family and they were blown away by her heartfelt prayers. They were just as humbled as I have been.

Their children are a pure testimony as to how extraordinary Greg and Sandra are as parents and as husband and wife. Their faith in God and in each other prove that they have accomplished Gods command: to selflessly lead their children to be Christ’s Followers and to be examples of Gods chosen.

We love you and you are NOT alone. God will provide for you both and for your children in ways never imagined.

Thank you for all you have done for all of us. Thank you for encouraging us to lean on the only One that can lighten our burdens: Christ our Restorer and Healer.

    Love,
    J.S.
