Surgery Is Complete!

Praise God!  Surgery is over and Greg tolerated it well.  The surgeon said the tumor was about the size that he expected…about the size of a quarter.  However, it was deeper than he thought.  Instead of being just on the wall of the heart, it was also in the muscle of the heart.  He says that it probably actually started growing in the muscle and just burst through the wall.  At this point, he has NO pacemaker…thank you Jesus!  They did place temporary wires in case the heart starts having pacing problems in the next few days.  If no problems, the wires will be removed.  He also did NOT require a blood transfusion!  Although, it is a real possibility that he may need one in the next few days.  The doctor said that he was able to obtain “negative margins” of about 5 mm. around the tumor.  Unfortunately, with the heart there is not as much room to establish margins as in other parts of the body.  He says that he removed all visible signs of the tumor.

Greg should be in the ICU in about 20-30 minutes.  Hoping to see him soon!  You all have been so faithful to pray for us, please take a few moments to thank and praise God with us!  He is faithful and He is good!!

Please continue to pray:

1. Pain will be well-managed

2. A pacemaker will not be needed

3. That I will be allowed to stay in the ICU with Greg as much as possible

4. That a transfusion will not be needed

Trusting His Plan,

Sandra
