One Day At A Time

Greg continues to improve a little each day.  His appetite is better, although most of his eating is only done because he knows he needs to eat.  His swelling has gone down significantly, but he is still retaining some fluid.  He has remained fever-free.  He’s still really tired and weak, but that is getting better.  All of the bloodwork done on Thursday was normal, except his hemoglobin was a little low.  Not low enough to require a transfusion, but it probably is a contributing factor to his lack of energy.

Greg goes back for labwork on Monday.  He also has the ok to be driving now….you’re not supposed to drive for a week after receiving the last IL-2 treatment.  Most of his redness has subsided, but he’s still having some itching and now his skin is starting to peel.  We are praying that this upcoming week will be a week where Greg has more energy and is feeling more like himself.

Yesterday was the first time that our whole family had been together in over 3 weeks!  Jacob had gone to the mountains with my brother and his family and he came home yesterday.  Katie has been away for camp training and came home last night for a short visit.  She got home around 8 pm and had to leave around 2 this afternoon to get back to camp.  It was so nice to have all of us under one roof….even if it was for less than 24 hours!

We continue to be blessed by so many of you as you continue to pray for us, provide for us and encourage us!  The Lord continues to show His goodness and faithfulness to us as we try to walk this journey with complete faith in Him.  We are so thankful that even when we are faithless, He remains faithful!  (2 Timothy 2:13)

Trusting His Plan,

Greg, Sandra, Katie, Emilie and Jacob

I’m so glad that Greg is feeling a little better each day and that your whole family was able to spend some time together. I bumped into Kim Oliver today, and she asked about Greg and said she and her family are praying for him. Not long ago, I ran into Kay Crews, and she said the same. So many people are lifting him up!!

I hope the days ahead are good ones before going back to Houston. Love you all.

Thank you once again for keeping all of us who love Greg updated. Glad to hear blood tests were normal, and praying that he feels better.

I’m so glad you are keeping this blog, Sandra. It helps us know what to pray for specifically and also just keeps me up to date with everything. I’m praying you all enjoy this coming week and that Greg’s counts continue to be good.
