Round Two Is Complete!

Greg’s last bag of IL-2 was complete at 3:00 this morning and he received his last Interferon injection at around 9am. We are so thankful that he was able to get through all of the treatment, but it’s still not over. Side effects from the Interferon typically hit him in the evening, so we still have that to get through. He was feeling a bit better this afternoon, so we went downstairs and outside for a little while. By the time we got back upstairs, he was worn out. He still has no appetite, and hasn’t eaten anything today…just drinking Gatorade.

Greg’s hemoglobin has dropped and they are preparing to give him a blood transfusion right now. Once again, he has gained about 20 lbs of fluid. Later they will give him an IV dose of Lasix to help his body get rid of that. If all goes as planned, he will be discharged at some point tomorrow. Not sure if we will travel home then or wait until Tuesday.

We were sad that we didn’t get to spend Father’s Day with our Dads and our kids. Greg has talked to all three of the kids and his Dad. I will be talking to my Dad shortly. We are both so thankful for our fathers and for what they mean to us and our families! I am also so thankful that Greg is the father of my children…He is a wonderful Dad and loves our kids so much.

Today, I am also thinking about my Heavenly Father and how thankful I am for Him. What a privilege to be able to call the King of Kings my “Daddy”!

Please continue to pray:
1. That our family would handle our current circumstances in a way that pleases the Lord and points others to Him.
2. That Greg has no side effects from this last Interferon injection
3. That the transfusion is tolerated well and helps to increase Greg’s energy level
4. That Greg’s body would quickly rid itself of the extra fluid
5. That he would be discharged tomorrow as planned
6. That we would have wisdom re: whether to pursue travel tomorrow or wait until Tuesday
7. That this treatment would be extremely effective and a tool that the Lord uses in Greg’s complete healing

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

Trusting His Plan,
Greg, Sandra, Katie, Emilie and Jacob
