Finally…..Some Good News!!

We finally received some good news from Houston! Greg’s MRI showed that the tumor that was found on the MRI of Greg’s brain in July is now barely visible!! The doctor says that he’s not convinced that it was a tumor in the first place, but if it was…it has almost disappeared!! Thank you Lord!! Last month when we were here, we didn’t see our regular doctor as he was on vacation. This week he was back. He told us that what was first believed to be new growth in the bones is actually healing of the bones!! Another “thank you Lord!!” And another bit of good news is that Greg’s echocardiogram this time showed that the ejection fraction had not changed since last month! So, we were thrilled with the results and so thankful to be able to call home and give our kids good news this time, instead of bad!

Yesterday was a long day! We finally got in a room about 6 pm. They didn’t get the PICC line in until 10. By the time Greg went for a chest xray to check for placement, they didn’t get the chemo started until about 11:30 last night. Of course, there were multiple interruptions throughout the night, but for the most part we both slept pretty well. (It may have helped that I took a couple of Motrin PM’s before I went to bed! 🙂 )

Today has been a pretty good day so far. Greg actually ate some eggs for breakfast and some fruit for lunch. We went downstairs and sat in the hospitality center for about an hour before lunch. They have some comfy recliners that face a big wall of windows, and we enjoyed sitting and looking outside. Well….Greg enjoyed it for about 10 minutes, then slept the rest of the time!

Greg had a bit of headache throughout the night and most of the morning. He took some pain pills before lunch and seems much better. He is sleeping at the moment.

We are so grateful for the circle of prayer at our house on Sunday and know that the Lord heard the cries of His people! As a matter of fact, Greg said I think we are going to need to do that again every time before we come out to Houston!! Thank you again to everyone that came out to pray for/with us and for those that were praying from wherever you were! God heard and answered and we continue to trust and believe that we will see complete healing of Greg’s body!

Our current prayer requests are:
1. That our family would handle our current circumstances in a way that pleases the Lord and points others to Him.
2. That Greg would be able to tolerate this round of biochemo, and the sided effects would be minimal.
3. That Greg’s body would be completely healed of ALL cancer.
4. That our kids would remain safe and healthy while we are away.

The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy! Psalm 126:3

Trusting His Plan,
Greg, Sandra, Katie, Emilie and Jacob

Hallelujah!! I hope I can come out to the next prayer circle. I think that’s a great idea to cover you all with prayer especially before you go to treatments/check-ups! Love you! Bethany
