We’re Still Here

We’re still here! I just haven’t taken the time to post since we got home. We got in Thursday evening and were thrilled to be home so much sooner than we originally thought we would be when we left on Monday! Greg felt pretty good on Thursday and most of the day on Friday, but by Friday evening he was starting to feel poorly. He’s been really tired/weak, a bit nauseous, achy, itchy and running a low-grade fever. These symptoms have continued through the weekend and he still doesn’t feel well. All of these things are probably side effects of the new drug (Ipi) that Greg received on Wednesday. If he continues to feel bad, we will probably touch base with our doctor at MDA just to let them know what’s going on. They say that side effects can go from mild to severe very quickly, so they want us to report them as quickly as possible so that they don’t get out of control. Greg did go into work on Friday and is planning to go back tomorrow if at all possible. We’ll just have to see how he feels in the morning.

We enjoyed having all the kids home this weekend, although with all of their comings and goings, they were only actually all “home” together for a few hours!

Thank you all for rejoicing with us over the recent good news of Greg’s scans. We know, though, that we still have a long road ahead of us. Unfortunately, melanoma is the disease that “keeps on giving.” It is so unpredictable and tends to come back again and again. But…..for now….the news is good, and we will thank God and celebrate that good news!! We will continue to trust and believe in God for Greg’s complete healing, regardless of what statistics show. Greg is NOT a statistic….He is a son of the Most High King!! So, while not being naive about this disease called melanoma, we choose to celebrate the gift of good news that the Lord has been so gracious to give us!

Our God is bigger!!!

Please pray for the following:
1. That our family would handle our present circumstances in a way that pleases the Lord and points others to Him.
2. That the side effects from the Ipi would decrease and that Greg would have more energy and feel better.
3. That we would experience the complete healing of Greg’s body SOON!

Trusting His Plan,
Greg, Sandra, Katie, Emilie and Jacob
