Feeling Better

Thank you all for praying for Greg over the past few days. He continued to feel poorly throughout the weekend. He ended up not going in to work on Monday, although he did work several hours from home. At least being at home, he could take frequent breaks and lay down to rest when he needed to. He contacted the nurse at MDA on Monday. She said that the side effects could be from either 1) the Ipi, 2) the dabrafenib (oral chemo), or 3) the Xgeva. This is an injection that he is getting monthly to help aid in bone repair. She said to watch it for another day or two and if things didn’t improve…especially the fever…to get back with her. She said he might need to go have some bloodwork or x-rays done. Fortunately, by Monday night Greg was feeling a little better. By Tuesday morning he felt well enough to go in to work. He is also at work today. He doesn’t feel great, of course, but at least he is feeling some better…and for that we are thankful. He continues to struggle with weakness/tiredness, achiness, headache and not sleeping well at night. So far today, he’s had no fevers. He still has on and off nausea, but his appetite is good.

Hopefully, Greg has had the worst of the side effects for this round of Ipi. He is scheduled to go back for his second infusion on Sept. 25. Please pray for the following:

1. That our family would handle our current circumstances in a way that pleases the Lord and points others to Him.
2. That Greg’s body would get stronger each day.
3. That Greg would experience maximum benefit and minimal side effects from the current treatment.
4. That we would soon experience the complete healing of Greg’s body!

I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me. (I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.) Phil. 4:13 (amp)

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me! As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God! Ps. 40:13,17

Trusting His Plan,
Greg, Sandra, Katie, Emilie and Jacob

We are praying. Thank you for keeping us up to date. Can’t even imagine going to work feeling the way he does…glad it looks like the worst of this treatment may be over. Praying for perseverance.

It was good to see you briefly at Voyagers on Thursday! We have been praying for your family. Its good to hear Greg feels well enough to work. In addition to the thing you’ve requested, I’m praying that you stay encouraged (esp. Greg.) ~ Casey
