What We’ve Been Up To

I haven’t posted much lately for two reasons.  The first is that the kids and I were out of town for a week; we enjoyed a family vacation!  If we were going to have a family vacation at all this year it had to be over Katie’s spring break, as she will be working all summer again this year at Winshape Camps.  We were thrilled to learn that Emilie’s spring break was the same week as Katie’s!  Because Jake and I homeschool, we had the flexibility to take off the same week as well.  So….off we went!  We decided to go on a cruise and we had a wonderful time.  The weather was perfect, the ports were beautiful, the relaxation was wonderful and the food was plentiful!  ๐Ÿ™‚  At the last minute, we decided to fly to Fort Lauderdale instead of driving.  Going down was great….made the first flight….no problems!  Coming back however was a different story.  We spent the whole day in the airport.  We stood-by for and did not make the first TEN flights.  ๐Ÿ˜ฆ  Praise the Lord all four of us cleared for the very last flight of the day!  I was so thankful that we did not have to spend the night in the airport.  So grateful for the privilege of being able to fly on a pass, but boy does it stress me out!!

The second reason I haven’t posted much lately is that I’ve been sick for several days.  Nothing serious, just the same head congestion/cough/sore throat that many others have right now.  Just didn’t have the energy to do much.  I love the beauty of Spring, but the older I get the more the pollen seems to bother me.  Thankfully, I’m feeling much better today.

Here are a few pictures from our cruise.  I’d love to hear some of the fun things that you guys are doing for Spring Break this year!

I love that you were thinking of me when eating the Key Lime Pie on a stick…how many hours did it take to eat it??? ๐Ÿ˜Š Did you think of both Zacharys at the fort?

Last thought: I wish I could tell you the fun things I am doing on Spring Break, but no Spring Break for me at this point in life. I do have a church retreat weekend at Sharptop Cove in Jasper GA at the end of April.

Amanda, we didn’t have the luxury of eating at your pace..it would have melted! I did think of both Zacharys and Tyler when I posted the pictures…..Zachary Taylor/Zachary and Tyler. ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad you’ll be able to get away for your retreat! Hopefully, it will be a time of rest and renewal for you.
